Mr. Hutter stressed the necessity of prioritizing maintenance as EV charging networks roll out, pointing out that while installations are increasing, the maintenance of these stations often becomes an afterthought. He advocated for making maintenance a central aspect of planning and deployment strategies to ensure sustained performance and reliability.

The panel included perspectives from several municipal professionals, including Laura Iannaccone, Manager of the Clean Transportation and Energy Program for the County of Los Angeles, and Evan Johnson, MPA, Electrification Program Manager. They shared lessons learned and success strategies for cities looking to make EV charging convenient, effective, and accessible for all. Case studies highlighted the successful use of state grant funding, community partnerships, and the installation of resilient charging infrastructure.
