Chris Hutter – Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors
Chris joined the company as its Chief Executive Officer in 2020. His industry experience and track record makes him the perfect match to lead National Power’s bold growth plan. This growth plan builds on the strong foundation and reputation the company has earned providing mission-critical electrical solutions for the cable broadband and telecommunications industries; and backup power, service, and power quality solutions for large commercial and industrial customers.
Chris brings broad experience leading and scaling businesses with solutions that improve the reliability and efficiency of customers’ operations, including distributed generation, energy storage, solar, energy efficiency, utility infrastructure, power quality, and microgrids.
Chris’s strong track record of leadership includes serving as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of PowerSecure International, Inc. PowerSecure delivered industry-leading 5x growth, prior to being purchased by Southern Company in 2016. In addition, Chris is on the Board of Directors of Powerside, a leading provider of power quality solutions – where he also served as the Executive Chairman and interim CEO. Chris received an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a B.S. in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University.
Cody Forness – Chief Financial Officer
Cody came to National Power in 2020. His previous roles included Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novinium, Inc., CFO of Aqualis, Vice President of Finance and Comptroller at PowerSecure, Inc., and Audit Manager at KPMG. Cody’s background at PowerSecure, Inc. includes being part of the leadership during a time of tremendous growth that led to the acquisition by and integration into Southern Company. His experience with critical infrastructure services are a great fit with the mission of National Power.
He received his Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and his Bachelor of Accounting from SUNY Oswego and is a Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina and New York.
Ronald Phillips – Senior Vice President, Head of DC Power & Infrastructure
Ron came to National Power in 2014 to lead the continued growth of the DC Power and Infrastructure division, focusing on turnkey solutions to customers in the cable, wireless telecom and broadband industries. Previously, Ron worked as the Group Manager of the Electrical Power Division at Yancey Power Systems and led the Sales and Project Management Team at Nixon Power.
Since graduating from Iowa State University, Ron has continued his education. Most recently, he completed the Caterpillar Sales Management degree from Rutgers University College of Business in 2013.
Laura Lambert – Vice President of UPS Solutions
Laura came to National Power in 2012 and has deep and broad experience delivering UPS solutions to a wide range of mission-critical customers. Her passion for serving customers with great solutions drives everything we do in our UPS business. As Vice President of UPS Solutions, Laura oversees all aspects of our customer portfolio and team. Before coming to National Power, Laura worked for Eaton Corporation where she developed strong relationships and experience with Eaton’s UPS equipment, as well as a deep understanding of customer needs and how to best solve them.
Laura received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Kent State University.
Kris Wilcox – Vice President, Head of Power Gen and Service
Kris started with National Power Corporation in 2011 as a technician. He became National Powers first Master Technician for Generac generators in 2013. He then moved into a Project manager role where he excelled at providing excellent customer service. In 2015, Kris, tried his hand in sales. He became the National Account Manager for one of the largest Cable providers in the US.
Today Kris is the Director of National Accounts and Generator service. Kris Wilcox has been in the generator service industry for 13 years after his time in the US Marine Corps.
Kris served in the US Marine Corps. From 2000-2005 where he worked on support equipment for CH53 Helicopters.
John Dixon – Director of Sales, Power Generation
John started working at National Power in 2002 and, as the Director of Sales for Power Generation, is responsible for overseeing our Generac sales territory. John started his career as a Field Service Technician with Power Systems & Controls in Richmond, VA. Over the course of his 40-year career, John has amassed a wealth of knowledge in UPS’s and power generation sales through roles at companies including Virginia Tractor Company, Alban CAT, John Roberts Associates, Carter CAT, Piedmont Power Products and CED/DTE.
John received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Susan Wolters – Director, HR & Corporate Administration
Susan joined National Power in 2015 and oversees all aspects of human resources and administration. Susan’s experience before coming to work at National Power is diverse and includes roles in the banking, pharmaceutical and real estate industries. She has settled at National Power because she says that the people are some of the absolute best.
A graduate of Randolph-Macon College, Susan has completed many of the leadership development programs offered by the Bell Leadership Institute in Chapel Hill. In 2013, Susan achieved her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification, and then received her Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management in 2015.
Eddie Youngblood – Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors
Eddie is the founder of National Power and serves as Chairman of the Board, focusing on strategic growth opportunities. Eddie had several professional accomplishments before founding National Power, including establishing and managing sales operations for Exide Electronics, now Eaton Electrical. Over the course of his 12-year tenure there, Eddie grew from handling a $3 million territory to managing a $55 million book of national business.
A native of Dunn, NC, Eddie is a 1971 graduate of North Carolina State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, followed by six years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft commander on worldwide missions in large transport aircraft. Eddie has built business relationships from his successful transactions across the United States that span the length of his 35-year career.
